CHURCH OF ST. ANNA

The origin of athis church is often linked to a miraculous event and, just to perpetually remember the recovered health of her son, the princess had "a new church built in praise, glory and honor of the most glorious Sant'Anna di Palmi" right next to her castle.

TEMPLE OF S. LORENZO

The small temple of San Lorenzo, located north-east of the town centre of Mesagne was originally a small country church intended for the cult of the St Lawrence martyr. The building was built in the first centuries of the Christian era on the remains of a pagan temple dedicated to Janus Two-faced and the Greek cult was practiced inside it until the second half of the 16th century AD. The church is the result of several reconstruction and restoration interventions that took place over the centuries.

Matrice Church
It was initially built in honor of the saints Eleuterio, Anthia and Corebo in the late 1400s, the Mother Church was subsequently subjected to two renovations and then dedicated to "All Saints".A series of architectural difficulties led to the collapse of the structure in 1649, and it was therefore necessary to start demanding reconstruction works, completed only in 1660. Furthermore, the church once housed the college of priests and was until 1930 the only parish of Mesagne.

B.P. grove
What a precise title: «The Baden-Powell wood, in the locality of Tagliata in Mesagne». Which suggests how many people should be careful to keep a small jewel, because the Tagliata locality, as well as the entire Mesagne area, has a suggestive countryside, rich - for the moment - in olive trees, but cannot boast the presence of many woods .The reference to Baden-Powell calls into question the founder of scouting, and therefore the scouts of Mesagne who, to tell the truth, have frequented and
even cleaned the wood several times, the birth of which is largely due to them.
